From early movements such as Situationism, mail art and plunderphonics to net and software art, the widely ranging palette includes such artists as the Situationist International, Lloyd Dunn, Cornelia Sollfrank, Alvar Freude and Sebastian Lütgert. All works on display are either under free license or subject to no copyright at all. On the panel, "Art and Anti-Copyright Activism" (June 10, 1 pm), four of the artists taking part in the exhibition will also talk with the curators, Inke Arns and Florian Cramer, about the evolution of this topic over the last twenty years from the underground to the mainstream: How have digital technology and new media affected anti-copyright art or even developed a new culture? What unique forms and aesthetics have emerged? What relevance will copyright-critical art take on in the future?
