Antony Taubman

Antony Taubman heads the Global Issues Division of the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO), responsible for issues relating to Traditional Knowledge, Genetic Resources, Traditional Cultural Expressions and the Life Sciences. He has been senior lecturer at the Australian Center for Intellectual Property in Agriculture (ACIPA) at the Australian National University; Director of the WTO Intellectual Property Section at Australia's Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade; Senior Advisor (Strategic Planning and Policy Development) to the Director General, and Senior Program Officer (Asia-Pacific Region), in WIPO. He has worked extensively in disarmament and on diplomatic postings to Tehran and the Hague. He has also conducted training and teaching on IP issues and practice in many Asian countries, has prepared a training manual on IP and biotechnology, and has published a number of articles on international intellectual property law.
