Thorsten Schilling



Born 1960 in Dresden, 1982 – 1986 studied Philosophy/Marxism/Leninism in Leipzig, July 7th 1989 expelled from GDR due to political reasons. In Berlin (East) city council press officer from 1990 to 1991, 1991 to 1994 spokesman for the senator for youth and family affairs in Berlin. After 1995, became project manager at the Galerie Eigen+Art Berlin and the berlin biennale for contemporary art. Organised together with Geert Lovink, Pit Schultz a.o. the Hybrid Workspacace as an temporary link Media Lab at Documenta X. In 1998, co-founded mikro e.V (link www.mikro.org) and chaired up to 2000 this mediaculture network. 1999 - 2000 Director Corporate
Communications of the Software Company Subotnic. In October 2000, he was appointed director of the multimedia and IT department at the Federal Centre for Political Education.
