Privacy Enhancing Technologies for NGOs
An overview of the impact privacy issues have on NGOs is given. More specifically, two tools suitable for increasing privacy in an NGO setting are being introduced, GPGRemail and Stickyx. GPGRemail is a minimalistic mailinglist software, meant for small, private, mailinglists that require strong cryptography via the GNU Privacy Guard. Stickyx is a bootable USB Stick primarily intended for laptops. With Stickyx the whole harddrive, including the bootsector is encrypted. Data theft through tampering or theft is made harder by physically separating the harddrive encryption key from the computer. Both a Linux and Windows version are in beta testing stage.
